Tariffs and Availability

The cottage is available from spring to autumn weekly rentals or short breaks. Last minute special offers (up to 1 week before holiday date) are also available, please contact us. The price includes linens, towels, some logs and kindling (additonal logs and kiddling can be purchased locally), an anthracite supply (high grade coal).

Prices vary with time of year and are between £350.00 - £500.00 per week. As the cottage is solid walled and at altitude some heating is usually required even in summer and definitely during spring and autumn. We charge electricity by an honesty box system. As electric is expensive, we find it fairer to only charge guests for the electric they use and also at the rate the electricity company charges us. In the colder months we would only take a maximum of £70.00 for electricity so there is no need to worry about the cost of keeping warm!

Please note that you have to have a certain amount of self-sufficiency when staying at the cottage as it is out in the sticks and it's a bit like living 'off grid'. The stove needs tending and if you let it go out it will get cold. The area does have power outages from time to time so be prepared to cook on the multifuel stove or the camping gas cooker by candle light. There is no WiFi and no live television - only DVDs or playback via downloaded films on your device to the TV.
